On June 19, 2005, Walter Industries and Mueller Water Products each announced that they have signed an agreement for Mueller Water Products to be purchased by Walter for $1.9 Billion. As a result of the transaction, Mueller Water Products' business, together with Walter's subsidiary U.S.Pipe, will be a preeminent water infrastructure and piping systems company.
