APPLICATIONS: The Itron ® MV-RS
Meter Reading Software has been designed
by the industry leader in Automatic Meter
Reading (AMR) equipment. The software supports
the reading of water, gas and electric meters
equipped with ERT modules in any number
of system configurations. It supports both
mobile and walk-by meter reading. Flexible
and easy to use, MV-RS can offer solutions
to utilities of various sizes that require
a complete meter reading solution. MV-RS
supports Electronic Reading, Off-site Meter
Reading, Remote Scan Disk Reading, Integrated
Mobile AMR, Optical Probe Reading and Itron
MicroNetwork. The system also supports universal
and manufacturer specific probes to read
touch pads. Check with your Hersey representative
to see if your system can be retrofit to
accept ERTs and use MV-RS software as an
AMR solution.
Designed for communication flexibility,
MV-RS Software is compatible with local
and wide area computer networks, and can
also operate on a stand alone PC. Whether
your current needs involve one or multiple
PCs, the software is capable of expanding
with your system, without the need for additional
software purchases. Over 30 reports and
tasks can be scheduled to run at predetermined
times to take advantage of system and personnel
requirements. As demands on your system
increase, MV-RS provides a platform for
expansion that can incorporate meter reading
technologies of the future.
Graphical User Interface (GUI) gives the
software a familiar look and feel and operates
with a minimum of driver intervention during
the actual reading of a mobile route. Over
1200 utilities world-wide use and depend
on the MV-RS software to manage their meter
reading data on a daily basis. A total of
20 years of experience developing software
packages has been invested in the MV-RS
software. The knowledge and financial backing
that come with the industry leader in AMR
devices offers peace of mind and the assurance
that any concerns can be handled quickly
and efficiently through the extensive customer
service network.
OPERATION: Meter reading route data
is downloaded from the billing systems
files to the appropriate meter reading device
where it is managed by the MV-RS software.
The meter data for each account is stored
in the proper file and can be processed
to generate a variety of general or customer
specific reports. The meter information
is then uploaded back into the host system
to process customer billing.
The utility is responsible for the interface
file to the billing system prior to installation
of the MV-RS software.
